Magnetic Mechanics

What is that first step in deciding what to invent ? Why do we invent ? Why do we patent an invention ? What do I really want from this investment of my time?

What is a good thing to invent?

If you are performing a task for yourself or working for a company and find a way to do that task quicker, easier and less expensive than any other available current method, that would be considered as a valid invention. You need to keep in mind your experience in the field and scope your invention falls into, the success of your invention depends on your experienced and meritable contribution to the field within the art. Usually all of these inventions come from a need to enhance an already existing method or invention efficiency, and that includes cost of manufacturing.

Why do we invent?

We invent because we feel we may have a better way to do something and the desire to contribute to your trade is natural. You can invent because you really care and want to perform better than others in your profession. We invent to possibly get some returns for our better invention or method.

Our example invention falls within a desire to accomplish something and not so much driven by monitary gain, although the concept is there alot like purchasing a lottery ticket in anticipation of some sort of payoff or reward for the effort and thought of the invention.

Why do we patent our inventions?

We patent an invention to gain title to the invention and it's alot like a title to a car, a deed to a house or land, and it's baseline is your intellectual property. The first step in the patent process is intellectual property and becomes the tangible effort of the invention process and there are ways to make money on your intellectual property. Invent something and write a provisional patent and make it yourself. Agree to have it sold by someone thats an expert at doing that, and expect that if your invention happens to be the best at what your claims state it to be that others will soon copy it and then make it less expensive to purchase than yours.

This system worked for alot of inventors, these inventors were seeking immediate monitary gain within a two year period. With todays manufacturing prices why would one logically spend thier money in the bank just to make an invention that takes a couple years to ever see the profits for, and it's a big risk. Another way to look at not starting the patent process with a provisional patent is purchasing a car you intend to count on for a long time and an expensive car. Would you purchase it if no one ever could title it ? No should be the logical answer, so that's why we need to follow all of the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) rules, there are volumes of it and you could read for a month and still not find every one. Thats why experience in this field is what eventually forms a successfull inventor.

Deighta company has always had it's interests into renewable energy machines, the field or class of the art is as simple as rotating a shaft somehow and there is potential work to accomplish, and more of a simple mechanical field almost anyone could perform in. What makes the difference in making machinery and apparatus successfull in this field, is the experience at applying horsepower and amplifying it in a conventional practicle application based on foresight.

Foresight and Viewpoint :

For example; we have had experience in the mechanical industry since 1974 so we really know about mechanical things like gears, shafts, bushings and such. Almost anything can be made in machine or apparatus form from old school metal fabrication and today using the modern automated machines.

So what's praticle is a return for your investment and it's also logical so we will focus this example invention on a device that is needed today and that will serve a need for many people by giving them a choice.

Based on real time events such as fuel prices and economic structure failure, it has become evident that a change is surely underway in the world. That change indicates a reform on electrical power distribution and who will be allowed to collect the conventionally accepted electrical power? Who will be the dictator of determining just who can collect electrical potential in the future? It becomes evident that our perception and direction be well planned out for this new invention we are designing.

Electrical energy distribution will never be free and under todays current events it will simply become less reliable and more costly, (fact). The high costs of input fuel along with the inefficiency of electrical power transmission to the consumer will continue to rise in price with time to the end user, (fact).

Committment and drive to complete the invention

Committment, thats big, real big and you have to think big on this one. I can only demonstrate this one by example and the following example is to be taken as that, "an example " only, but it should example the point.

Example :  Hmmm, lets see here, now I am living on a tropical island and we'll say it's Maui the tropical paradise as viewed by others and myself included. I need electricity, I don't have any, ok now what ? Well what do I need electricity for actually ? Lights, no I go to bed with the sun and rise with the sun about 6:15 AM sunrise and around 6:15 PM sunset, that happens around the equator area. Ok, lets see, a stove to cook food, wait a minute here, I have no food cause there is no electricity and I have no refridgerator either to store any food. There are avacodos the size of grapefruit here, papayas, bananas, star fruit, taro, the list goes on and on, so I go pick my fruit each day, in about ten minutes I am full, I can go into the streams and catch prawns, snorkel in the ocean and get lobsters, rock crab, any kind of fish I like within minutes, so now what ?

Now the question to answer at this point in the invention process is ; Why would I spend my time, effort or money to ever design an apparatus that is intended to generate and store electrical energy when I myself don't need it ? The answer would be feeling and believing that I was helping someone out that needed electricity.

Example Continued : You have just been visited by some thought in your mind that makes you interpret there is a mission you are on, like for example you interpret that you are actually doing good for other life forms by following your beliefs. and this one has to do with the drive energy portion of the invention process. In this particular scenario invention, lets say this visited thought was pronounced enough to get your blood pumping pretty hard and that you believed that the visited thought that we actually are created individuals based on logical viewpoint of our surroundings, and that viewed, leads you to believe a plan or reason for your being does exist. In other words "the mission" for you to feel completely satisfied you were needed by some other life form and fullfilled your mission or purpose, that allowed you the benefit of an awareness of life and it's essence and therefore your happiness.

There are two important issues in this example, one is that you have to believe beyond a shadow of doubt that what you are attempting to accomplish is your mission for the next two years. If you don't feel this way at this point that your project is your mission, you will not have the wherewithall to finish the project that completes the invention into tangible form, and after all that's why we patent an invention, for profit of some kind. You need to realize that the invention process for one product to complete usually takes one year "after" the design process begins for any particular invention. So there is a whole lot of steps to go through that will allow you to complete the project and the goal is to come up with a product that is worth an income to us for the next 20 years.

At this point in the invention process we have ; (1) thought of a product that we feel will help many others, (2) have some knowledge somewhat of the background of the invention written in text, (3) realized this project may take at least two years to complete, (4) a good understanding of why we thought of the invention and why we are devoting our time in completing the mission, and (5) written down those items in handwriting, signed and dated.

NOTE :  It is vitally important to briefly write down these things in a project notebook now at this point. Every invention that is left unwritten about that you have, will clogg your ability to continue in the invention process. Things left unwritten about while inventing will restrict the flow of inventive material thought about or conceived in your mind. In example it's like a sewer pipe when you know what flows downhill until one little peice of paper stuck in the pipe usually stops others until there is no flow in the pipe. The inventive mind works that way in everyone, once the pipes are cleaned out in your mind by writing them down other information comes that progresses into the next inventive step for us. The next step is watching out for our protection of our intellectual property "our invention".

Step by Step - The Progression Leading to Accomplishment

We now understand that we have simply the concept and idea and there is no invention yet, the idea itself is worth nothing until we work throught the issues of justifycation of the invention, the committment, and then the drive energy. Once these factors are completely clarified in the inventors mind, the next step is the pre marketing evaluation, or sharing the concept with someone in a position that you respect and or that will lay the logic on the line, and usually it is the CEO of the company you have targeted that markets items within the field and scope of your invention. Friends and others that may utilyze your invention are also good advice to consider, and you had better take the viewpoint that all feedback is good and it's simply becoming aware of peoples perception of your invention to come.

NOTE : If you talk to ten of your friends about your idea and ten of them are willing to pay for it today, I would get to work now on the paperwork, in other words it would be a great idea. But it still isn't worth a dime in royalties, inventions in diverse mechanical art are three dimensional, take up space, and you can trade them for money.

This evaluation has to be done now at this point in the invention process and written upon in text by you in your project notebook so you can moreover understand what you are up against to get this invention marketable and worth an income to you. Do not go into the office of a CEO at this point and act as if you have the Holly Grail for him, you will shoot yourself in the foot and end it for yourself on the spot. You go in willing and happy to share information on the concept, not the invention itself, and you allow him to tell you it's a great concept, or you may get a laugh from him, usually that's the case. Don't let anyones opinion or feedback affect your invention process at this point, and realize you have simply been given parameters of the concept.

I have a little saying that reminds me of why we invent, and means to me as an inventor that the comparisons we go through while inventing a product that occupies a three dimensional space point to the realization that we are people that are exactly made up of the same elements as everyone else considered a person, and that all other subject matter alike in it's operation down to the molecule of any matter, and therefore by experiencing these differences by comparison makes us who we are, think like an inventor and you are one, it's that simple.

"we are, by one like element with time and the differences change us, into the form we imagine ourselves to be"
